We love hearing from our kittens’ new families…

Here is what they are saying about their new Siberian.

Testimonials

There is nothing we love hearing more from our kittens’ new families than, “This is the best kitten we have ever owned!” That is why we do what we do.

My husband and I have always loved cats, but I have suffered pet allergies since childhood. I learned about Siberian Forest cats several years ago, and hearing that they are a breed that many allergy suffers can tolerate seemed too good to be true. We did our homework, looking thoroughly into learning all about the breed and determining what to look for in reputable breeders. We tried to find a reputable breeder closer to our home, but e‑mail and phone queries to several left us wary and uncertain about breeder trustworthiness and the quality of care given to their cats. We finally found Lori and Simply Divine after a friend purchased a Siberian from Lori’s co-breeder, who had no available kittens. When we e‑mailed Lori, she always responded very quickly to answer all of our questions. She was also available by phone, and had a lengthy, honest and enthusiastic conversation with us that settled us on choosing Simply Divine, despite the 6+ hour drive to Webster, NY. What a wonderful choice! We took home two beautiful kittens, Rum Tum Tugger (‘Tugs’) and Jennyanydots (‘Jenny’) from Lori. These kittens are indeed Simply Divine—playful, affectionate, and best of all, no issues with my allergies! Tugs and Jenny have astounded us, our visitors and our vet with their friendliness, curiosity, cuddliness, and all-around good natured attitude towards everyone and everything. I can’t imagine getting only one kitten; Jenny and Tugs are best friends and playmates, and love each other’s company as much as they love to engage with us. Tugs and Jenny are hilarious to watch and play with, and want nothing more than to follow us around the house and watch what we are doing (ideally from the vantage point of our laps!). We cannot imagine our lives without Jenny and Tugs greeting us at the top of the stairs after work, and the eruption of purrs and cuddles that ensues after we walk through the door. I cannot recommend Lori highly enough as a trustworthy, conscientious breeder. She truly cares about her cats and their welfare, and is not out to make a profit. Her kittens are beautiful and healthy, with wonderful affectionate personalities. Please feel free to use us as contacts for other families who live far away and are curious to know more about Simply Divine and the Siberian breed.

I took my girls home almost three months ago and I am SO glad I found such a great breeder.   I’ve had cats my whole life, and I’m astounded by how amazing my girls are.  My husband has not had any problems with them even though he is allergic to cats. They came already litter trained and knowing that scratching should be done on a scratching post.  And the most amazing thing is how well socialized they are.  They love to be picked up and pet, they will sit on my lap while I’m working, they snuggle up with me in bed and you can just tell how trusting they are and how much they love you. I am also so glad I decided to adopt two little girls at the same time.  Since I have to work during the day they always have company, they play together, and its so adorable to find them curled up asleep together.  And they have such different personalities too.  I can say with certainty that if and when I get more kittens, I will get them from Lori.  Having a kitten come from such a loving home makes all the difference.

When all four of my family members tested positive for cat allergies I was devastated. Growing up on a farm I had cats all of my life and I could not image living without one. Looking back on that now I see that it was a blessing because after much research and perseverance it lead us to the Siberian breed and to Lori at Simply Divine Siberians. On February 22, 2012 we brought home Wolfe and Winter, two twelve week old brothers from the same litter. I would have been happy with one kitten, but my husband made the decision to get two. He felt because we had two sons, ages five and seven that we needed to get two kittens together, a boy needs a brother. He also did not want one to be lonely while we were out of the house. My concerns were they might bond more with each other than with us, and also double the allergens if any of us had a reaction. A year has passed since we brought them home and getting two together was the BEST decision for us. They adjusted immediately to our family. We are living with no allergenic reactions. They have bonded so strongly with each of us, along with being almost inseparable with each other. With two very active boys in the house and many other children coming and going they are not intimidated at all. They greet all of our visitors at the door and welcome attention from everyone. They are playful, loving, hearty and very large! We are amazed at their royal nature and how absolutely beautiful they are. They will leap great heights to catch a fly or spider. More than once they have jumped in the shower or bath with us. They play fetch and come when called. Each one sleeps with each of our sons, and they follow us wherever we go in the house. Getting two was a great decision for us because it is so much fun watching two siblings grow up together. Their relationship with each other mirrors our sons. They are very energetic and chase each other through the house. They often pounce on one another, but usually for the purpose of a grooming session. They have never hurt each other, they only growl when stalking a catnip mouse! They learn from each other, play together when we are busy, take naps together, and we get to enjoy double the pleasure of having these amazing creatures as part of our family. We highly recommend everyone consider getting two!

This happy kitten owner was one of several people over the years who have had a significant allergic reaction in my home while doing their live test.  She experienced itchy watery eyes and a sniffly nose while in my home.  They decided to proceed with the adoption anyway and her symptoms were very mild after bringing him home and were completely gone within a week.  This is encouraging for the few people who do experience a reaction while conducting the in-home test.

I am so happy that I found Simply Divine Siberians! I have asthma and I am also severely allergic to dogs and cats. I always wanted a cat but I could never be around them.…within minutes I would be sneezing, itching and my eyes swollen. I did not want to give up hope of being able to bring one home, so I did my research. I found that the Siberian breed is hypoallergenic and are great for people with allergies. That’s when I got in contact with Lori and she was so helpful throughout the whole process of adopting my kitten, Ringo. He is such a joy to me and my husband. He likes to play fetch, cuddle and loves having his belly scratched! Everyone gushes about how beautiful he is. The best thing of all is that I have had absolutely no allergic reactions to him…he even lays next to my face in bed! I am so happy I made the decision to adopt Ringo. Thanks Lori!

This breed is perfect for anyone who says that they prefer dogs because they have a much more “dog-like” personality. I’ve had cats in the past and they generally run and hide or keep to themselves. Our Siberian greets us at the door daily and is a constant presence in our lives – wherever we go, she is sure to follow – she always wants to be with us and is an incredible companion. She’s also very interactive and will “speak” when spoken to by responding with a soft squeak or chirping noise. She will run past you to intentionally get your attention to initiate “play time” and will often bring a particular toy to us as a “gift”.

She drinks from the faucet (a routine we taught her that started as play, but is now a several-times-per-day ritual for her water intake!) – she loves water and it’s never a surprise to find her toys floating in her water dish (ironically, only her toy fish or duck!).

She also loves the cold which we think must have something to do with the Siberian breeding — she loves to explore on our back patio (especially during the winter months and ONLY when we are there with a watchful eye!)! We sought out this particular breed after doing research due to our son’s allergies. He has NEVER had an issue at all with our Siberian – however, any time we go to someone’s house with any other breed of cat, he immediately begins sneezing incessantly, his eyes turn red and itchy, and he ends up with red blotches on his arms – a very significant difference. Our relatives own cats and he’s been exposed to a variety of breeds (Persians, Himalayans, short-hair house cats) all with the same results and absolutely no reaction whatsoever to the Siberian. We never would have been able to own a cat if it wasn’t for the Siberian!!! This is a wonderful breed that I would recommend to anyone who asks – to people with allergies, people who say they don’t like cats (or are more “dog people”), or to anyone who just loves beautiful, playful, affectionate cats!

I can’t begin to tell you how happy we’ve been with our “Shelby”!  If you remember, my husband wanted to surprise us with a kitten for Christmas.  You were so helpful and accommodating, that he actually pulled it off!  As you know, my husband has pretty severe cat allergies along with asthma.  So, of course, I never thought we would be able to add a kitten to our family.  We have had Shelby for a little over a year now with no allergy issues.  My husband, who was never a fan of cats, is now completely in love with her.  She sleeps with us and is always at our side.

I still can’t believe how quickly she adapted to her new home with two kids, and Molly, our LARGE dog.  They are the best of friends now!  I have attached some pictures of Shelby over the past year.  She is about a year and half old now and weights 9.7 lbs.  I’m sure you’ll agree that she’s grown up to be a real beauty!

Thanks again for breeding such wonderful Siberians and I’m sure we will be adding another one to our family in the future!

Lori-

Here are some random pictures of Bijoux Harmony Herman.  I’ll take some better ones when I can find the time. We are so happy with our little Bijoux. She brings us so much laughter and love and is a great companion for our dog Nyssa as well.  She’s probably about 5–6 pounds right now.  She’s also getting very curious about outside.  Have you seen that with your cats?  She sees Nyssa come out with us and wants to go too. Anyhow, feel free to use my name and e‑mail address if any other people are interested in talking with me about our Bijoux.  We’ve had not one problem with allergies, so she’s worth every penny to us. Lori-  I don’t have any pictures that I can down load right now but Katarena is absolutely beautiful and the love of my life.  She is so smart, playful, loving, I just can’t tell you how much joy she has brought to me.  If I could afford it, I would have another one.  She has come thru her spay surgery with flying colors.  Everyone that has met her, just loves her as much as I do.  She weighs 5 lbs at 4 months.  Her coloring is gorgeous.  She answers to Kat and she always comes running when I call her.  She is such a sweet girl. ML

Hi Lori, Here are some of our favorites of the Girls — Kashka and Mimi. We absolutely love them, they are like having two kids that want to be with you all the time. I call them my “Helper Girls”. We can’t thank you enough for all the care and love you give your kittens before they go to their new homes. Their personalities and affectionate ways (and very well mannered) reflect the love you and your family gave them. Thank you again, Jim and Penny

HI LORI ‑DID I EVER SEND YOU THE ATTACHED PICTURE? I THINK THE LOOKS ON THEIR FACES TELL SO MUCH ABOUT THEIR PERSONALITIES. KOSHKA HAS A PEACEFUL ZEN LOOK — GENTLE, TOLERANT AND MIMI GIRL HAS THE “ME TOO” LOOK. YOU ASKED IF MIMI HAS MAINTAINED HER FEMININE NATURE…SHE’S OUR LITTLE GIRL WHO IS TOTALLY SPOILED, KNOWS SHE IS LOVED AND CAN GET SNUGGLES AND CUDDLING ANY TIME SHE WANTS. SHE’LL SIT OUT IN THE KITCHEN WHEN ALL OF US HAVE MOVED TO ANOTHER ROOM AND JUST GIVE US HER CRY OF “WHERE IS EVERYONE” AND KNOWS SOMEONE WILL BE THERE INSTANTLY TO PICK HER UP AND BRING HER TO THE ROOM WHERE WE ARE. I REMEMBER WHEN WE VISITED MIMI WITH KOSHKA AND MIMI WOULD GIVE A LITTLE MEOW THAT YOU ANSWERED WHEN SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHERE EVERYONE WAS. SHE IS VERY SWEET AND KOSHKA IS VERY TOLERANT AND PROTECTIVE OF HER. SHE’LL COME RUNNING IF MIMI IS CRYING.SUCH A WONDERFUL SET OF SISTERS. TAKE CARE, PENNY

 Hello Lori,

Falena is doing great.  She is such a lover.  She loves to play hide and seek around corners.  She will wait for you to walk around a corner and she will spring towards you with her paws flailing around.   She follows me around wherever I go.  Always under foot.  Even during parties she will lay on her back on the middle of the kitchen floor.  She is very trusting.  My daughter draws pictures of her on projects at school and writes about her in stories.

Regards, Doug Smith, Proud daddy of Falena

Hi Lori! Mischa is doing great!!!  She is so gentle and affectionate, and so much fun!  We just love having her around.  My 3 year old, Thomas, still calls her Honey.  We tell him that her name is Mischa, but he insists that Honey is her REAL name, because that’s the name her Mommy gave her. 🙂

This girl LOVES water!  We have to keep the bathroom doors closed when pouring a bath.  After letting her explore the tub and hang out in the bathroom when the kids were having their baths, she built up the courage one day to get into the bath with them!  She loved it!  One day I let her get in as I was pouring my bath.  She was having so much fun splashing around as I was at the sink brushing my teeth.  However, she didn’t like it when the water reached her belly level.  The poor thing tried to jump out, but was so heavy with her wet fur, and the tub walls were so slippery, she kept sliding back in, landing with a bug splash, and getting herself even more wet!  She did make it out just fine, and landed like a wet mop on the floor.  What a mess.  That experience hasn’t stopped her though, she LOVES trying to get into the tub!  We obviously don’t want her getting in all the time, so we try to discourage it.  Now, she will lurk outside bathroom doors for her chance to get in when there is a bath happening. If you open the door at all she is in like a flash, and jumps straight into the tub full of water, no hesitation.  I have included one picture of her in the tub, but I think there is more on my camera.  She also loves to get in after a bath has drained and lick the tub walls! Again, we try to discourage this. 🙂

Cheers, Angela Proud mommy of Mischa (Honey)

Hello Lori:

Finding Simply Divine Siberians has been a Godsend!  My immediate and extended family and I have allergies to regular cat breeds. This is a real problem if you are a cat-lover like we are. We have owned other cats in the past, but this has caused severe allergic reactions to some family members and even within our children. Desiring to be a cat owner once again, I followed up on news I had heard regarding a “hypo-allergenic” breed called Siberians. After following several leads, I was lead to Simply Divine Siberians. We obtained our cat “Tucker” (Bliz to you) on August, 2008.  His full name is Count Tucker of Yorkshire. He has grown a bit since we first brought him home.

He is nearly 12 lbs, and as our photos attest to, he is simply a very handsome cat.

We have had no allergic reactions since owning him and in fact, one family member who is extremely sensitive to cats, has had no issues at all. Tucker really is a gentle giant and we are very happy and appreciative of the service you offer.

Warm regards,

Gerri Dudek
